PHOTO METADATA REMOVER

Keep the photo.
Leave the details.

Remove metadata from photos before you share them. Clear supported GPS, camera, date and text fields without re-compressing the image.

The memory is yours.
The location can be, too.

Keep your originals. Cleaning removes supported content credentials (C2PA) and can affect authenticity verification. EXIF orientation is removed, so some photos may appear rotated. What gets removed

BEFORE YOU SHARE

What can travel with a photo?

A photo can carry more than the scene you see. A camera or phone may write a GPS location, capture date, device model, editing software and an embedded thumbnail. Other apps add descriptions, keywords, XMP fields or AI generation settings.

Choose your photos above, open each metadata report and save the cleaned copies. You can add more files to the same batch and download everything that succeeded as a ZIP. A refused file never receives a download.

Cleanup follows the file format

FormatRemovedPreserved
JPG / JPEGEXIF and GPS, XMP, extended XMP, IPTC, comments, APP11 C2PA and other unneeded application data.Compressed scan data, JFIF display settings, Adobe color transforms and ICC profiles by default.
PNGText chunks, compressed and international text, EXIF, modification time and supported C2PA chunks.IDAT image data, transparency, animation and supported display information.
WebPEXIF, XMP, C2PA and other unsupported metadata chunks.Compressed image data, alpha, animation and ICC profiles by default.

Unchanged pixels can look different

The tool does not rotate or re-encode your photos. Removing EXIF orientation can change how a viewer rotates or mirrors a file. Check the cleaned copy before sharing. If it looks wrong, use a trusted local editor to normalize the orientation before cleaning again.

ICC color profiles stay by default to preserve color interpretation. You can remove them with the switch, but colors may look different. Animated PNG and WebP frame data is retained. HEIC, AVIF, RAW and multi-picture or gain-map JPEG files are not supported in this version.

Metadata cleanup does not erase faces, addresses, license plates, screenshots of private information or visible watermarks. Review the image itself as well as its report.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few things, explained.

Clear answers before you share.

Can I clean several photos at once?

Yes. Select or drop multiple files. Each file is processed locally, with its own result and download. You can also save all successful outputs as a ZIP. Browser memory is the practical limit.

Will JPG scan data and PNG image data change?

No. Supported JPG scan bytes, PNG IDAT data and WebP compressed image data are kept. Metadata containers are removed without decoding and re-encoding the image.

Why can a cleaned photo appear sideways?

Some cameras store an orientation instruction in EXIF instead of rotating the pixels. This tool removes that instruction along with EXIF. The pixels are unchanged, but viewers can display them differently. A warning is shown when a supported orientation field is detected.

Can I use HEIC photos from an iPhone?

HEIC is not supported yet. Export a JPG, PNG or WebP copy with a trusted local app first. Conversion is a separate operation and can change image quality or color.
